VOLYN RESOURCE CENTER
Volyn resource center (VRC) is the agency for development of territorial communities of North-Western region of Ukraine.
Date of registration – September 24,1998.
VRC Status – West-Ukraininan regional non-profit non-governmental organization.
VRC mission: to support the activity, consciousness and responsibility of citizens, assisting public initiatives. Its mission achieving VRC considers in indissoluble connection with social and economical development and ecological safety of the region.
Our clients – non-gevrnmental organizations, bodies of local self-governance and bodies of state power (state goverance).
The priority directions of VRCs work are:
1. Strategic planning of communities development
- Implementation of technologies for strategic planning to the system of management of different level communities,
- Implementation of monitoring technologies to strategic plans,
- Assistance to communities in strategic plans implementation,
- standardization of services on strategic plans elaboration for communities,
- spreading the technologies of strategic planning to other countries
2. Labour market
- analysis of main needs of regional labour market,
- researches and implementation of effective (including foreign) models of assistance on employment of population,
- improving the system of professional orientation
3. Sustainable development
- implementation of projects and programmes within the communities directed on the solution of ecological,economical and social problems,
- Making the system of municipal management more transparent,
- Popularization of ideas of well balanced ecological-economical-social developemnt
4. European intergration
- Implementation of projects on spreading of reliable information about the possibilities of european and Euroatlantic intergration of Ukraine, among the experts and all people of Ukraine
5. Public sector
- Giving educational, infomational and technical support as well as consultations on development of public organizations and initiatives
6. Youth
- Development of communicative and leadership skills and abilities of young people
The exsistence of network of regional partners let VRC rapidely spread the information to local communities of all ethnic groups of Volyn region (North-western part of Ukraine), assists in deeper learning of regional problems and possibilities for their effective solution.
Experts
VRCs staff worked in role of experts on the invintation of UNDP, Alliance Counterpart Partnership Programme (ÀÌÐ USA), Ukrainian educational Programme of market reforms (ÀÌÐ USA), Program "Partnership for transparent society" (ÀÌÐ USA), Local Ecological Action Plans programme (ÀÌÐ USA), International "Renaissance" foundation, Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, Rivne, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi regional administrations and also Rivne, Kyiv, Kovel, Ostrih, Dubno, Volodymerets, Kivertsi, Ukrainka, Korostyshiv, Korosten, Kahovka, Chygyiv, Slavuta,Shepetivka, Manevychi, etc. local councils.
VRCs most important events
- 2007 Rivne, conducted Forum of sustainable development for exchange in innovations between the communities of North-western Ukraine in the area of solution of economical, ecological and social problems.
- 2006-2007 – elaborated strategic plans of sustainable development for towns Zdolbuniv, Sarny and Kostopil, and also Hoschanskiy district of Rivne region.
- 2006 – elaborated the strategic plan of sustainable development for Korostyshiv district Zhytomyr region.
- 2005 – elaborated strategic plans of sustainable development for towns Ukrainka, Kyiv region and Korostyshiv, Zhytormyr region.
- 2004 – elaborated strategic plan of sustainable development for town Kivertsi, Volyn region.
- 2003– Dubno, Rivne region - conducted the Forum of local development for exchange in innovations between the communities of North-western Ukraine in the area of solution of economical, ecological and social problems.
- 2002-2003 – elaborated strategic plans of sustainable development for towns Ostroh and Dubno, Rivne region.
- 2000 and 2002 – VRC was marked by Euroasia Foundation, as the best granter in category of resource centres of Ukraine.
- 2002 –information educational network started its work for 19 bodies of local self-governance of Western Ukraine.
- 2001 – Lutsk, conducted first in Ukraine Volyn Forum of regional development.
- 2000 – Rivne, the activity of youth public city council was started, and it got the status of deliberative consulting body of Rivne city council. The Public waiting room was opened.
- 1999– Rivne, - the first in Ukraine Fair of sevices and projects was conducted.
