RESEARCH ON PERSPECTIVES IN RIVNE OBLAST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CONCERNING THE POTENTIAL FOR SKILLED LABOUR FORCE FOR 2008-2010 (The research results will be available on our web-site in April 2009)
Research aim To make a qualitative and quantitative forecast of the state and potential of skilled labour in Rivne oblast, as well as the needs of the oblast to provide the economy of the region with the qualified labour resources to encourage investment and growth.
Research objectives To determine the present structure of the work force, breaking it down by types of professions*
To determine the labour-surplus and labour-deficient professions in the region*
To determine the main regional and external influences and their tendencies on the kinds of economic activities of the region
To determine basic approaches to solve problems of ask and need balance of labour force in selected kinds of economic activity in the region
*Note. There is no such information in Rivne oblast now.
Research features: Innovation –analogues absence in Ukraine (none of the regions conducted the research in such format. Similar analysis is being conducted now in Dnipropetrovsk oblast within the building area). The research conception was elabourated, while taking into account Ukrainian conditions on the ground of a Canadian analysis model and skilled potential prognosis, which is considered the best in the world.

Who will use the results of the research? Main department of economy, oblast, district councils and administrations will receive full information for work with investors (there is no current data about the state on dynamics of the potential for skilled labour in the region, though this information necessary for investors)
Oblast Department of Education and Science – will get clear quantity and quality information on training of those workers the region’s economy needs most (There are currently no methods to determine the needed quantity for workers training)
Oblast Employment Centre – will input the corrections to unemployed re-training mechanisms, to provide for the most vital needs of the economy (There is currently no prognosis for longer than 1 month)

Results distribution: Distribution of report on CD for key-partners, Oblast Council deputies, Oblast administrators and educational establishments.
Research results will be placed on the Oblast State Administration web-site;
A press-conference will be conducted, with the participation of research partners.
